Description

Characteristics of Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate

Amino acid-based anionic surfactant, meaning it effectively cleanses while being gentle on the skin and hair

Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate is widely considered one of the mildest anionic surfactants available. It's derived from coconut fatty acids and glycine (an amino acid naturally present in human collagen), making it gentle on the skin and eyes. It cleanses effectively without stripping the skin's natural moisture barrier or causing irritation. This makes it ideal for sensitive and delicate skin types.
Despite its mildness, PCG produces a rich, creamy, fine, and stable lather. This provides a luxurious sensory experience in cleansing products.

Unlike some harsher surfactants that can remove intercellular cement lipids, PCG is known to be "skin barrier friendly," helping to maintain the skin's natural protective function. It leaves the skin feeling clean, light, supple, and non-drying
